If you are searching for a job right now the chances are you will have a copy of your CV readily available. Those who are serious about finding that next big role will make sure that their CV is up to date (as there is nothing worse than sending an old CV out to a potential new employer!). But, have you thought about your USP (or Unique Selling Point). You know, the thing that makes you shine, makes you stand out from the crowd, makes you an attractive candidate to any potential recruiter?
Your CV should be a doccument based on FACT, with details of career history, achievements and educational qualifications. But dont be afraid about adding a little extra in there. Perhaps a paragraph entitled “Career Ambitions” or “Career Highlights”. In this section you can really go all out on selling yourself. Shout about what you are good at and ideally tagret it to the individual vacancy you are applying for.
By highlighting your USP you may just stand out from the crowd, so what have you got to lose?
