Investment banker Robert Swannell has today been unveiled as the front runner for the top job at Marks and Spencer. The Chairman’s position is currently held by Sir Stuart Rose who will be stepping down in the spring of 2011. Mr Swannell is currently Chairman of the music and book retailer HMV, however, he has a long history linked to M&S and has performed an advisory role in recent years.
