Ryanair Creates New Jobs in Yorkshire
Ryanair has recently unveiled plans for 14 new routes out of Leeds Bradford Airport that will create around 1000 sustainable jobs. This is great news not only for the airport but also for the towns located in close proximity to the airport, where the general job market is currently stagnant.
The new routes will see an increase of around 1 million passengers, meaning that Ryanair will need to employ more pilots and cabin crew and the airport will need to employ more ground staff, from baggage handlers to check in staff to air traffic controllers. The jobs boost will extend further, as plans are already in place to create bus services between the airport and Leeds and York city centres. There is also talk of new tram / train link which would provide a welcome boost for the construction industry.
