John Lewis is a dream employer for countless graduates, and little wonder when we see success stories like that of Simon Fowler who is set to take over the retailer’s flagship Oxford St store as MD.
Fowler secured a graduate job with John Lewis in 1986 and has worked up through the ranks to achieve this significant position. The John Lewis store, in the heart of the capital’s busiest trading district, has been operational for 150 years and is the largest store operated by the retailer.
Meanwhile, in Birmingham, around 650 John Lewis job opportunities will be created as the retailer opens a new store at the revamped New Street Station. With work taking place well into 2012 on the station the store itself will not open until 2014.
