A recent European survey has revealed that the current, global economic crisis is causing concern amongst a huge proportion of the population. Around a third of people are said to be “very concerned” that they could lose their job in the short term as a result of the recession. On top of this, six out of ten Europeans also feel that worse is yet to come, in terms of the economy and their personal career path.
The country with the highest unemployment figures in Europe is Spain, and unemployment figures for that country have been revealed at 17.9%. Behind Spain is Latvia, with 16.3% unemployment. Countries with the lowest levels of unemployment are the Netherlands at 3.2%, Austria at 4.3% and Cyprus, with 5.3% unemployed.
