The Lancashire town of Colne is celebrating today, as Sainsbury’s opens a major new store in the town today. The store, covering an area of around 46,000sq ft has provided employment opportunities for around 240 individuals which is a welcome boost for the area.
Typically, the jobs with Sainsbury’s are wide ranging, from bakers to cafe assistants, managers to check out supervisors. The store has been built on a former derelict plot and has provided rejuvenation to the local area. The new store manager is reportedly delighted to have brought employment to the people of Colne.
