Currys Job
Vacancies
If you are searching for a job with an
established UK high street retailer then Currys may be the
ideal choice. This well-known retailer of quality electronics
and white goods is part of the DSG International Group, one of
Europe’s leading electrical retailers.
Currys employ around 24,000 staff and have a
network of around 500 stores. With such wide UK coverage it is
likely that you will find a branch of Currys on a high street
in a town or city close to you. Currys also has a growing
presence in many UK airports, offering duty free prices for UK
holidaymakers.
Job vacancies with Currys can be split into
three distinct categories, with a wide range of roles within
each. These categories are as follows:
Currys employs the largest proportion of its
staff within its stores. Staff are required to be bright and
articulate and have a passion for selling. The product range is
diverse and you need to be able to sell the benefits of each
product to the consumer, so from irons to plasma TVs you really
do need to be interested in home electricals.
To run successfully each store needs to fill
a range of vacancies on a range of terms. Full time employees
work along side part time team members and there are seasonal
vacancies available at peak trading times, such as Christmas.
As trading hours become longer, with some stores open until
late evening, Currys is an ideal employer for those who need to
fit their working life around their family commitments.
Duties vary throughout the day, so a job
with Currys is never monotonous. Store Colleagues are
responsible not only for selling and delivering top class
customer service, but also for stock replenishment, carrying
out stock checks, running banking administration and
merchandising.
As the products sold by Currys are at the
forefront of technology, Currys will provide each of its Store
Colleagues with in depth product training. Training is also
provided for those staff who wish to further their career with
the organisation and move into a supervisory or managerial
role.
Currys Store Management Job Vacancies
Currys seeks to employ highly motivated and
well-educated managers to run their busy stores. Each branch
manager is responsible for success of his or her individual
store. Good man management skills are required, because the
store manager needs to get the best from their staff and ensure
the store runs harmoniously. The store manager is also
responsible for maximising profits, delivering quality customer
service, stock management and creating an “in store
theatre”.
The Store Manager will have several Deputy
Managers reporting to him/her. Deputy Managers are on hand to
offer the Store Manager any support required, plus they are
responsible for the day-to-day management of the store and any
training required in store. Store Managers and Deputy Store
Managers receive continuous training and support from Currys
Regional Managers.

delivering success, but they also need to be capable of
managing under performance and failure. Regional Managers
