ALDI Job
Vacancies
ALDI are a fantastic employer for anyone
looking to start or progress his or her career in the retail
industry. Despite tough economic trading conditions Aldi are
continuing to grow, increasing their market share year on year
and building more stores across the UK. Aldi has received
several accolades this year, named “Best Supermarket 2009” by
Which?, plus “Grocer of the Year” and “Discount Grocer of the
Year” in The Grocer Gold Awards.

To help build upon this recent success and
facilitate further growth Aldi recognises the skills its
employees bring to the organisation. Aldi has jobs vacancies for a variety
of roles and whether you are looking for a full time job, part
time job or even a graduate position it is possible Aldi will
have a vacancy of interest.
If you have ever visited Aldi you may notice
the supermarket operates with fewer staff than some of the
other food retailers. This is because Aldi has a policy of
recruiting high calibre individuals at all levels, who have a
strong desire for career progression and a willingness to
learn. Aldi staff are generally well-motivated thanks to the
comprehensive training schemes in place and the above-average
salaries paid to them.

Aldi Graduate Careers and Job
Vacancies
Aldi has been recognised by The Sunday Times
for being a leading UK employer for university graduates. The
retailer has a well-developed training and management scheme in
place and new recruits are financially well rewarded. This
makes Aldi a prime target for applicants and the scheme is
often over-subscribed.
If you are considering applying for a
Graduate position with Aldi you need to do your research before
hand in order to demonstrate that you have a good understanding
of the company and what it will expect from you. As Aldi prides
itself on recruiting only high calibre candidates, with at
least a 2:1 level degree. You should ensure that your CV sells
you and your abilities and will make you stand out from the
competition.
Graduates employed by Aldi are rewarded
well. For example, a Graduate Area Manager will be initially
paid £40,000 p.a. and will benefit from a company car, which is
currently a brand new Audi A4. Successful candidates will also
benefit from the pension scheme, healthcare scheme, life
assurance, five weeks paid holiday, international secondment
possibilities and the prospect of a directorship after five
years.
Training is constant and demanding. Aldi
expects its graduate recruits to gain a good understanding of
the operation in a short space of time. Regardless of position,
the successful applicant will be trained in areas such as
logistics, property management, product trading and financial
administration.
Career progression for graduates can be
rapid. The best candidates can be managing up to 6 stores by
the end of 12 months but you really need to be driven and
dedicated to achieve this.
If you feel you are the sort of candidate
Aldi are looking for then you should start the application
process. You can apply for a graduate vacancy with Aldi online,
but be sure that you are ready to apply and have all the
information you need to hand, because you can only apply
once.
If you need more information about applying
for a graduate job vacancy with Aldi then you should try and
attend one of the careers fairs where they are exhibiting.
Throughout the course of the year they attend a large number of
events, such as The National Graduate Recruitment Exhibition,
London, which is every October. These fairs are a great way of
making contact with the company, asking any relevant questions
you may have and chatting to current Aldi staff about their
careers and the expectations of the company.
Aldi Store Vacancies
If you are looking for a job vacancy with a
busy retailer then Aldi is the ideal choice. Not only does Aldi
offer fantastic career prospects regardless of your starting
position, but it also pays salaries much higher than the
majority of UK food retailers.

years old and over. You also need to be motivated, bright and
able to think quickly. With fewer staff in store than some of
its competitors, Aldi store assistants are expected to “muck

operates effectively. This means that you are unlikely to ever
be bored as the variety of work is so varied. Working as part
of a team is vital, so you need to demonstrate that you can
interact well with other people and take direction if
required.
You don’t need to work full time with Aldi,
although full time jobs are available. Part time vacancies from
15 hours upward per week are also available, making the store a
popular place for people with family commitments and
students.

Salary of £8 per hour, rising to £9 after the
initial training period.

level and can be filled very quickly.
Aldi Store Manager and Assistant Store
Manager Vacancies
Although Graduates are often promoted to the
positions of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager Aldi
also has a policy of external recruitment. It recognises that
some of the brightest and most capable managers may not have
attended university but have developed their career through
previous retail employment.
If you are a person with a high level of
confidence and a good deal of commercial acumen then you may be
right for a managerial position with Aldi.
Managers with Aldi are rewarded well, with
Assistant Store Managers paid around £25,000 rising to £28,000
p.a. after training. Store Managers can expect to be paid

only recruits the best candidates, who are willing to work hard
in order to achieve success. For both managerial positions,
employees are expected to work a 48-hour week and be able to
demonstrate that they can not only run a busy store, but also
motivate and manage the people who work in it, whilst ensuring
high levels of customer satisfaction.

available Aldi Managers receive the following benefits:

Non contributionary pension (after 2 years)
